jaws [5/26/10]

jaws

My best friend and I were planning to go to the beach tomorrow, but didn't end up going. So we made sure that we would go today, especially since it was supposed to be the hottest day of the week. And boy, it was! We went to the Holly State Recreation Area and posted up on the lake. It was so nice and relaxing. Summer is great.

a hard day's night... [5/25/10]

a hard day's night

...and he's been workin' like a dog. I suppose there are certain ways that people deal with constant double shifts. Everyone has a way of making it through the long day.

summer feet [5/24/10]

summer feet

Experienced Veits Woods in Mount Pleasant for the first time and I am so glad I did. Sean, Libby, Leah and I decided to walk through and check out the river and the woods and it was so beautiful. There's nothing better to me than spending the entire day outside surrounded by nature.

you're my blue sky, you're my sunny day [5/23/10]

summer

I'm loving the weather this week. It feels like how August weather was last summer. Second to Autumn, this truly is my favorite season. I love the warm and the sunshine. I know I'm going to have to end up moving out of Michigan after I graduate..

a patriotic prayer [5/22/10]

ph_blessing

This picture was taken during I wedding I was shooting for my internship out of Ubly, Michigan this summer. I work alongside Vanessa Prill of Moments Captured Photography. I get to drive to different areas in Michigan, do what I love doing the most, witness a lot of love and emotion, enjoy wonderful food (and sometimes, drinks ;], and gain a lot of experience. I'm so glad that I got this opportunity. Although this picture doesn't include the bride or groom, this was one of my favorite shots from the day.

samantha [5/19/10]

sam3

Samantha wanted me to take some outdoor pictures of her for her senior pictures/open house. It's crazy how those events happened so long ago for me. I'm getting old :\ Anyway, it's definitely not hard to produce some beautiful pictures of her, because she is gorgeous herself and was a great model. This is one of my favorite shots of her.

you dipstick! [5/18/10]

you dipstick!

So..unfortunately my poor Betsey (my car, a '92 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera) has been having troubles reversing lately...Dad was sure it needed some transmission fluid, so he took a look-see at it today. Turns out that's not the problem...Guess i'll have to make sure I don't park at downward angles.

beautiful balusters [3/17/10]

balusters

Sort of a boring photo, I know. But I was a lazy bum and didn't do much during the day. But I did get a new 70-200 f2.8 lens and was so excited about it. So this is a shot I took as I was playing with it into the night. I like the colors and the graphical aspect of it.

downtown hoedown [3/16/10]

my beautiful balloon

I went to the Downtown Hoedown yesterday with my best friend Elyse. It was the last day of the festival weekend. Completely crowded, but still a pretty good time. A lot of interesting people in attendance for sure. These were a few of my favorite photos that I took. So what if there are three for my 'photo a day' summer project. There is still at least 'a' photo for the day, right?

a beautiful casualty [3/15/10]

a beautiful casualty

So I decided that for the summer, I'm going to make it my goal to make a picture every day. Yes, this concept is pretty much like everyone else's "365" projects, I do realize this. And so what if I'm taking on the idea for myself? It will be the same, but only throughout the summer. And who knows, maybe I will continue it on afterward. I want to keep my creative juices flowing, and Davisburg is not exactly the most thrilling place to be staying at, so this will give me something to do.

Anyways, this is my first picture. My Dad was working outside for hours when I got home today, and just before we started eating dinner, he came in from being out in the yard and showed me these sad little feathers. He found what was left of some poor, beautiful little birdie. Poor fellow.

Clark Family Funeral Chapel

Clark Family Funeral Chapel from Sara Winkler on Vimeo.

Dane, Jane, and Ben Clark help to make up a small and cozy funeral chapel off of Bradley Street in Mount Pleasant, Mich. They began their journey in their family run chapel in 1998. Dane Clark, the owner, was interested in cherishing and celebrating lives of lost loved ones and of hard situations when he learned that he had Hodgkin’s disease, and feared the life of his own self. Ben Clark, the son, has made it his own choice to join the family in the business and is currently in a program to become a certified funeral director.

Clark Family Funeral Chapel provides many accommodations to families to help make their experience the best it can be. They offer anything from personalized caskets, jewelry, videos, and even have their very own reception center connected onto the chapel for luncheons afterward. The family has a true passion for serving others and for helping them get through their losses with ease. Their love and comfort within their own family helps them to give others the same kind of affection.
